Mercedes-AMG GT
The Mercedes-AMG GT is a sports car produced by the German automaker Mercedes-AMG. It was introduced in 2014 as a two-door coupe and later expanded to a four-door sedan variant in 2018.
The GT is the spiritual successor to the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, which was produced from 2010 to 2014. It is also Mercedes-AMG's first sports car to be built entirely in-house.
Design
The GT is a front-engined, rear-wheel drive sports car with a 2+2 seating layout. It is available in two body styles: a coupe and a four-door sedan.
The GT is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine. It produces 469 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque in the base model, and 503 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque in the S model. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is standard.
The GT has a curb weight of 1,530 kilograms (3,373 pounds) for the coupe and 1,570 kilograms (3,461 pounds) for the sedan.
The GT has a drag coefficient of 0.33 for the coupe and 0.35 for the sedan.
Performance
The GT can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour (62 miles per hour) in 4.0 seconds for the coupe and 4.1 seconds for the sedan. The top speed is 310 kilometers per hour (193 miles per hour) for the coupe and 304 kilometers per hour (189 miles per hour) for the sedan.
Fuel economy
The GT has a fuel economy of 11.8 liters per 100 kilometers (20.1 miles per gallon) in the city and 8.5 liters per 100 kilometers (28.3 miles per gallon) on the highway for the coupe, and 11.9 liters per 100 kilometers (19.9 miles per gallon) in the city and 8.7 liters per 100 kilometers (27.7 miles per gallon) on the highway for the sedan.
Safety
The GT has not been crashing tested by either the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
Standard safety features include adaptive cruise control, automated emergency braking, and a blind spot monitor.
Price
The GT has a base price of $131,400 for the coupe and $138,900 for the sedan.
